I should draw more Hyenas, this was fun. No idea why I never do that although they belong to my favorite animals next to wolves, crows and hares.

Inks and acrylics on watercolor paper, 43 x 33 centimeters.
His tattoos were inspired by some african tribal drawing.

"Due to the difficulty of surviving in the wild, many social animals form packs to maximize effectiveness of hunts and for the general level of security numbers offer a group. Werewolves have been recorded doing the same, often seen hunting in well organized groups to bring down large quarry such as caribou. However, some werewolves have been seen as lone individuals. The circumstances of their lifestyle are as yet undiscovered. Perhaps being ousted when confronting a dominant pack individual or simply not fitting into pack society, these loners face a much harder life without the security of pack. Identified by their sparcer coats and leaner frames, loners will also be far more aloof. Hunting large prey as an individual poses too much of a threat of injury and subsequent death and hence they often choose to be scavengers or hunters of smaller prey such as rabbit, field mice and they have even occassionally been seen fishing on riverbeds."

Been on vacations to the mountains for a while. Sorry for not replying to comments and such, but
I didn't have the chance to get online. That will probably also not change during the next weeks; way too busy.

But I'll take care of all open orders tonight and ship them out tomorrow.

Where sky touches earth

Acrylics on canvas, about 60x80 cm (23.6 x 31.4 inch).

As usuall there are a few things I'm not 100% content with, but I don't think I'm able to fix them.
Lack of patience as usuall.
Not sure how long this took me, started it about 3 weeks ago and mainly worked on it in the evenings and on my free days all day long.

The Ornaments are based on native african jewellry, symbols and weapons, the lion was done after some sketches at the zoo, for the fur and bark structure I used some of my closeup texture ref photos to study.

Another photo update

I took so much photos during the last weeks but barely find the time to edit and post them.

Visited the Wolfcenter in Doerverden, Germany yesterday and it was a blast. Though I wasn't able to take much photos and the light-situation was not the best for my camera, I had a awesome time there. We even got to cuddle some of the cubs.











The next two were taken at the birdpark Walsrode about two weeks ago during the freeflight show.

































Last but not least, a photo I took for MagicMag as a little birthday gift, and the cute little blue eyed paint colt belongs to my friend Juli.

2011 calendars

Just spend an hour signing and numbering my calendars.
I didn't expect them to be finished until monday, but...they are here.

So happy I decided to make bigger ones this year and choose a different printing process - the quality is amazing!

Art calendar 2011

Finished my calendar layout for the next year. Printing process starts in a few days.

I may start a pre-order soon and the finished calendars should be available second week of July.

They layout is a bit different than the last 2 years and it will also be twice as big this time. Paper quality will be the same nice glossy paper with wire-o binding.

Not sure about the price yet. I want to keep it as low as possible, but with the new size the production costs are of course a bit higher.

Glowing mushroom wolf figures
